Walking along Dorset’s stunning coastline, you will stumble upon a breathtaking ocean-inspired sculpture—a towering mermaid tail. This sculpture is the first of what will be 45 large and 43 smaller ones marking The Great Tail Trail, opening this April.
The event will create a free, family-friend walking trail through the towns, parks and coastline of South Dorset.
After ten weeks, the sculptures, sponsored by local businesses and painted by artists, will be auctioned to raise funds for Julia’s House—a local Dorset charity providing vital care for children with life-limiting conditions and their families. Mermaid tails have been specially chosen as the sculpture for the trail as they represent the Mermaid Suite at Julia’s House.

We’re thrilled to be part of this adventure with our very own sculpture titled The Ocean is Calling—a breathtaking mermaid tail designed by local artist Kizzy B Creative.
Mustang Survival will also be hosting other exciting events like coastal pigment foraging and painting with artist Kizzy, guided cold-water swimming, and a beach clean-up and BBQ. All proceeds from these events will benefit Julia’s House.
The trail opens on April 5, 2025!
