James specializes in sailing photography and videography. Growing up with parents who sailed, the sport was always accessible and a natural pathway to progress and learn for him. Now, after operating for the last five years in the industry as a professional, James has built a strong client list and has work published internationally.
On assignment, James works to show what goes on at the top of the sport, capture unique moments at the center of the action and convey the inside story of what happens on the water. He has worked onboard Volvo 70's and five supermaxis and documented racing onboard single-handed yachts such as IMOCA and Class40. He also captures media from ribs and over chase boats, where a personal highlight is to catch moments that become recognized amongst the sailing community.
James works in a hostile environment full of adverse weather and staying dry is paramount out at sea. Wearing clothing suitable to the different extremities he experiences is essential, from the Caribbean's warm and humid conditions to the freezing cold of the Arctic Circle and the unpredictable wet and windy weather on the Solent in the UK.
Being a Mustang Survival Ambassador is an excellent opportunity for him to work with a brand whose DNA originates from a love for the sea and marine safety.
